E-LEARNING ON A SHOESTRING

jane
JANE BOZARTH

certainly had us holding onto our 'virtual hats'
today at 15.00 GMT!!

Have you all caught your breath back?

Thank you so much for coming and opening our eyes to the dynamic collaborative world of a whiteboard in a virtual environment with text and voice!  It was a great experience, so much so that we didn't see the 60 minutes in your company just rush by!

If you were unable to be there at 15.00 GMT, here is the recording :

Hi, all, and thanks for having me! What a good time. What a fun group. I posted a message to the Yahoo site but in case you miss it: I'm offering a more traditional version of the "E-Learning on a Shoestring" workshop FREE next Tuesday via www.insynctraining.com (check the community calendar). Hope to see you then!

Jane,
You did a great job involving us all in your session. I don't think I have the confidence to use the tool with others on my own, buy I will look for some more opportunities for practice.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the great time at Elluminate, Jane. It was very insightful to have a very active participation in your session reflecting, at the same time, on the use of this tool and its features with our groups.
Kind regards from Brazil!

Much food for thought
-what is urgent/important in teaching and our own professional development
-standards in online real time environments
-wonderful ideas to get interactivity
I will go back on the recording

Hello, i`m Angeles from Mexico. I wasn`t at the live event but listen to the recording.
It was nice because you share a lot of ideas. I thought elluminate was so difficult but you make it easier.

thank you :)

I was unable to attend the session, but "watched" it after the fact. The recording was so good that I felt like I was there.

I learned so much about the ways that a teacher can show students in a virtual classroom that he/she is human, and cares about the individuals in the "room." Some techniques include using emoticons, displaying personal photos, describing your setting to students and using students names. These are subtle, yet very important cues to the student that the teacher cares. I have seen this demonstrated in our own Baw07 group by Teresa and Daf and the moderators, but not until now do I understand how my positive experience here has been influenced by the "human touch."
