Welcome!

Dear participants,

Welcome to "Becoming a Webhead 2007" (BaW-07).  We will be together for 6 weeks exploring and discussing different web tools and the best way to use them in our daily teaching practice. In this blog we will be discussing the weekly synchronous presentations given by experts in the different topics we will be dealing with.

Looking forward to an enjoyable and fruitful experience,

Dafne, Teresa and the BaW-07 team :-)

Thank you bau07 team for the great job you have been doing for everyone who is keen in internet implementation to classes.

Hi, everyone!
It's day 5 of registrations and we already have 127 members and 31 intros. Great, isn't it?
Cheryl, "motime" is the blog host that I've been using for a year with my students. I introduced it to Daf and she created her own blog at once. I like it a lot! And Howard replies to all our questions, problems or just plain help in no time. He's fabulous!!!
Hope you all benefit a lot from BaW07! I'm sure I will.
Enjoy!

Hi, Angeles (am I right?) and Ester!
I'm glad you think you're in good hands and that we're dedicated people. I believe the first is true and have no doubts about the second. We're all very dedicated. :-)
Hope we meet your expectations!

This is all a bit overwhelming for me right now, there are so many pages to keep track of.

I guess this is how my students feel sometimes!

Hi to all,
Liza from Maine, where it has been snowing, finally, but not enough for my kids to have a snow day. (They were VERY disappointed!)
I'm not sure how much I will be able to actively participate in Baw07 over the next few weeks but already I have had my eyes open to so many great tools. I can hardly believe it. The biggest challenge will be figuring out how to share all this with the teachers and students at my school. I can't wait!
I am now listening to the EVO launch from 1/14/07. It is really a wonderful mind expanding event. I love both the tech-side and the global community of people with a heart-felt purpose.

Bye for now (I'm off to try Vaestro),

Dear Liza,

You are right the biggest challenge is getting your colleagues interested. For 5 years I have been trying to involve my colleagues at the university and it has been a difficult process. We are around 40 teachers in the department, and after all these years only 6 have become involved :-(
It is amazing that I have been more successful with teachers worldwide than with those who work with me f2f.
But I don't give up, because I see the motivation in my students, and how they are taking advantage of my blended courses, with the help of webheads around the globe :-)

Hugs,

Daf

Is there any way to join and become a webhead at this point in time? It reads like things have already been rolling.
