Blended Learning

Aiden Yeh and Rita Zeinstejer were the Week 6 guest speakers.

Before the presentation started we still had a chance to have a glimpse at the surprise Teresa had prepared for the two guest speaker. We  were all touched!

Their presentations were just phenomenal!

What a great pair of educational examples the audience was able to take home! If you miss it, check the recording here! (best viewed in Internet Explorer)

Their presentations were truly eye-openers on the efficient use of educational technologies to enhance and motivate learning in a more meaningful and fun way.

We can only thank them for sharing with us such extraordinary blended learning experiences.

The challenge now is to follow their path and come up with so brilliant ideas as the ones they presented us with.

Hopefully next year, we will all surprise them with similar examples and initiatives, and let them know that we learned the lesson well. They will be proud.

Do you already have some ideas to get started?  ;-)

Isabel Perez Torres talks about Online Class Materials

Once again we had the pleasure of having Isabel Perez as our guest speaker in the
Becoming a Webhead Online Class Materials Session.

Isabel has been involved in the creation of online, interactive exercises for a long time now

and hearing about her experiences and projects is always inspiring.

This time Isabel ventured in a new venue to deliver her presentation, as she agreed to

host it in ALADO. Many of the participants were very interested in the activities and examples

that Isabel showed them and as usual she was a success. This presentation was an eye-opener

and we are sure that our dear webheads to be will benefits a lot from such an alighting presentation.

We can hardly wait to see the practical results of this session.

Please do share your exercise links with us.

Open Sessions in DIMDIM

MHunter
Moira Hunter
in DimDim

After moderating live sessions for guest speakers, Moira held three open sessions for participants in Week 4.   During each two-hour session,  participants dropped in to discover the features of this web-based open source virtual classroom which is still in its Alpha version.

dimidim2

Fun was certainly had by some as deskstop sharing and application sharing were given a whizz and songs were sung with the beautiful audio where four people can speak together at the same time.

Please leave your comments below and we're all looking forward to seeing the Beta version!

In the second session on Saturday 10 Feburary at 01.00 GMT, we had even more fun!

Thanks to your warm and patient online presence, all participants learnt yet more about the possibilites of the whiteboard, how to use this with uploaded files, with the web browser and to annotate web pages and files.  We also discussed audio settings and did some troubleshooting.  Great session.

Thank you Geoff :-))

================================================================

On  Monday, Jan 29 at 21 GMT we got together at the Alado Webheads room to listen to our dear friend and colleague Barbara (Bee) Dieu. Bee shared with us her expertise in blogging.

tn_bee1

As usual in Bee's presentations, participants got valuable information about blogging, and were able to interact in the text chat as well as with voice, asking questions to which Bee wisely had a reply for

On this screenshot, of one of the PPT slides, we can see a summary of the benefits we can get with blogging:

Michael Coghlan’s Superb Presentation at YM.

Michael Coghlan Presentaion

Yahoo! Messenger has been part of the Webheads communication tradition for a while now, as it is used quite frequently by its members to interact with each other and also to involve students in real communication scenarios with people from all over the globe.

That was also what happened today.

A considerable number of participants gathered online to attend our guest speaker’s presentation on YM. Once again, having Michael Coghlan hosting the week 2 presentation at YM has been a tradition that we mean to keep.

Thank you to the coordinators, moderators and co-moderators who were there to invite people for the conference.

A special thanks to Michael Coghlan who did a great job…well nothing else would be expected anyway!

And thank you to all the attendees. Without you this session wouldn’t have been possible here.

More about this amazing session can be found here: http://baw07.pbwiki.com/Mcoghlan-YM
